I've had mixed results with Testors to be honest, sometimes it's fantastic, but mostly it's not as matt as I'd like.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01102290238629069459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3853844454702412888.post-80808324503681715502012-10-23T08:04:48.334+01:002012-10-23T08:04:48.334+01:00lovely work, i like the colour that you've pic...lovely work, i like the colour that you've picked for chosen. but could you tell me exact nameand/or product id/name for spray varnish that you've used?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14032250237603957568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3853844454702412888.post-92095667708455939892012-10-19T21:07:04.983+01:002012-10-19T21:07:04.983+01:00Thank you! I was initially going for Word Bearers until practicality took over, and the Black Legion can be a really striking force. :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01102290238629069459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3853844454702412888.post-64843531260510210542012-10-19T16:27:55.700+01:002012-10-19T16:27:55.700+01:00Thats a very nicely painted Chosen! =) Really cool...Thats a very nicely painted Chosen! =) Really cool!
I am starting on my Dark Vengeance Chaos minis soon but it will be a boring Black Legion & Word Bearer colour scheme.FourEyedMonsterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18161202517627920103noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3853844454702412888.post-14855257150446790172012-10-18T20:50:47.135+01:002012-10-18T20:50:47.135+01:00Thank you all!

The darkest parts of the face should be eye sockets and that's it, all the other shadowed areas should be a middle tone in comparison Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01102290238629069459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3853844454702412888.post-17492249963514936282012-10-18T15:57:11.304+01:002012-10-18T15:57:11.304+01:00I like how you've made the greens muted and ro...I like how you've made the greens muted and rotten on the chosen but still got the highlights right so that it pops and doesn't look simply dirty. If I get a small Nurgle force going, that's something I'm going to emulate.

What's your secret for doing faces as they look really good on your models and now that I've got this display piece coming up, I'm a bit worried about making a hash of the faces, which are focal pieces of course.Pete Whttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10662176026555380093noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3853844454702412888.post-81209806493195371762012-10-17T20:17:37.597+01:002012-10-17T20:17:37.597+01:00Your dragon problems come from all that fine detai...Your dragon problems come from all that fine detail. The other kits have many areas of broad colour that can be easily painted and are forgiving to mistakes. That dragon sculpt is really nice and crisp and shows mistakes easily. Keep taking your time with it and it will turn out nice. It will be hard not to rush through the home stretch on that one but just work on it when you are in a good mood. I've been there. Some kits just drain you when you look at them - that's how you know they're worth it;)Zabhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07000817078818838705noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3853844454702412888.post-43441820177630245982012-10-17T18:46:32.364+01:002012-10-17T18:46:32.364+01:00The Chosen Marine came out great. Just a thought, but you might want to work in a bit more yellow-green (a touch more Ogryn Camo maybe) into the cultist's cloak to tie him to the marine a little more.Gary Therkildsenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10396298962477176511noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3853844454702412888.post-64799193429791520142012-10-17T17:04:32.633+01:002012-10-17T17:04:32.633+01:00Some beautiful work, love the dragon as well! Some beautiful work, love the dragon as well!Ray Rousellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07352596392520905197noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3853844454702412888.post-86187319109380629892012-10-17T14:00:05.864+01:002012-10-17T14:00:05.864+01:00Damn those are good especially the chosen and like...Damn those are good especially the chosen and like Brummie said the dragon is bloody lovely so far!The Angry Lurkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01227314379603418332noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3853844454702412888.post-29374670297323362562012-10-17T12:49:19.608+01:002012-10-17T12:49:19.608+01:00The Chosen and test piece look great, That dragon ...The Chosen and test piece look great, That dragon is awesome though I can understand it looks a tricky pose to paint imoSimon Quinton https://www.blogger.com/profile/18001946192905517180noreply@blogger.com
